Topps Chrome Football Shows Off Rookie Autos, Patch Parallels
Chrome collectors are a different breed. When I used to work at a sports card store in Central Pennsylvania a few years back, there were some regular customers who would bust Topps and Bowman Chrome products more enthusiastically than anything else we sold.
To its credit, Topps keeps the Chrome brands pretty consistent from year to year, so their fans know most of what they can expect. That looks to be true for the 2009 edition of Topps Chrome Football, which is tentatively scheduled for late August.
As in seasons past, every box will contain an autographed rookie variation card (like the Mark Sanchez example pictured here), which can also be found in low-numbered parallel versions. Topps is also returning popular refractor patch parallels of 30 NFL rookies, numbered to 25 copies each.
Other highlights include rookie cards 1:2 packs and nine parallel cards per box. Suggested retail price will be $3 for a four-card pack, and you can visit this page to see the entire specs.
